Matt Farah and /DRIVE review the 2014 BMW M5 (Non-Competition Package) at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in California.
The 2013 BMW M5 (http://www.bmwblog.com/2013/10/29/2014-bmw-m5-competition-package-review-review-test-drive/) is powered by a high-revving 4.4-liter turbocharged unit that uses the BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. The engine outputs 560 horsepower from 5,750-7,000 rpm and 680Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque from only 1500rpm. It comes in both manual and 7-speed DCT transmission.
The new enginehttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png (http://www.bmwblog.com/2013/02/03/video-drifting-the-2013-bmw-m5-and-2013-bmw-m6-coupe/#) produces around 10% higher output than the V10 engine of its predecessors and torque is up by over 30%. At the same time, real world fuel consumption and CO2 are reduced by approximately 30%.
