"This side was sagging a bit lower than the other side for a couple months now and couldn't figure out why. So as I was driving northbound 101 getting on 680 North on ramp, I hit a nasty bump/pothole and all of a sudden I hear a "PPPpppssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh". Thought to myself, "FVCK! I got a flat.."
I pulled over, didn't get out of the car because I was RIGHT NEXT to the ramp. Took a phone pic with my arm out the window to see the damage. I see that the tire is still full.. So.. WTF? Koni's Busted? Ground Control sleeve broke? I had the flatbed tow my car to our shop (Getting this thing on the flat bed and off the flat bed was like getting my teeth drilled at the dentist).
The next night I took off the wheel, inspected everything and it looks like the lower shock bolt went completely missing. My assumption is that one of the tech's didn't tighten down the bolt all the way, because all the threads in the female hole is still there. I just had to replace the bolt and got her back up and running.
Damage: Driveshaft boot is completely ripped, I need a new axle. The Koni shock is dinged, dented and scratched up to hell. My rim, as you can see, has a new silver time attack theme on both sides."
